Louisian leaders foster youth engagement as newly-appointed City Youth Officials

Grade 11 students from Saint Louis College have been appointed as City Youth Councilors in San Fernando, officially stepping into key roles in the City Youth Officials (CYO) Program during the Election and Oath-Taking Ceremony held on August 15.
Marcia Ledeca D. Cunanan of Grade 11 – St. Justin de Jacobis, together with Shean Ujin F. Labilles of Grade 11 – St. Ezequiel Moreno, took their oath of office before City Mayor Hermenegildo “Dong” Gualberto.
Along with 17 fellow youth officials, they pledged to serve the community by collaborating with local leaders, engaging grassroots organizations, and advocating for programs that uplift the youth sector.
In line with City Ordinance No. 2019-10, otherwise known as the City of San Fernando Youth Code, the newly appointed leaders are given opportunities to work alongside city officials and gain first-hand experience in local governance, particularly in fostering development and addressing communal issues.
