The Saint Louis College School of Advanced Studies (SLC-SAS) underwent a Hybrid Inspection conducted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Technical Panel for Open and Distance e-Learning (ODeL) Programs on July 30 as part of its application for Government Authority to offer its existing graduate programs through Open and Distance e-Learning (ODeL).
The hybrid evaluation was conducted onsite by Dr. Melquiades C. Ancheta, Chief of the Non-Conventional Higher Education Division of the Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD), CHED Central Office; Dr. Ma. Ninia I. Calaca, member of the CHED Technical Panel for ODeL Programs; and Dr. Myrelle Faith D. Mina, representative of CHED Regional Office I. Joining the inspection virtually were Dr. Belen L. Tangco and Dr. Juan Robertino D. Macalde, both members of the CHED Technical Panel for ODeL Programs.
During the inspection, the CHED evaluation team assessed the institution’s readiness to implement ODeL by examining its governance, instructional delivery, faculty preparedness, learner support services, learning management system, quality assurance mechanisms, and technological infrastructure in accordance with established CHED standards.
The inspection formed part of the government’s quality assurance process for higher education institutions seeking authority to offer graduate programs through flexible and technology-enabled learning modalities.
The activity marked a significant milestone in the continuing efforts of SLC-SAS to expand access to quality graduate education while strengthening its commitment to academic excellence, institutional quality, and innovation in teaching and learning.
