Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU), through its Global Affairs Office (GAO), actively participated in Project PIVOT: Partnerships for International Visibility and Organizational Transformation. This is an ongoing capacity-building initiative of the Commission on Higher Education β International Affairs Service (CHED-IAS). Through its continuing series of learning sessions, the initiative brings together International Relations Officers and internationalization focal persons from Philippine higher education institutions to move beyond simple connections toward meaningful, long-term global collaborations.
Anchored on strengthening international visibility and organizational transformation, Project PIVOT guides participating institutions toward more strategic and sustainable internationalization efforts. Throughout the sessions conducted thus far, SLC-SFLU has gained valuable insights into international funding and research opportunities, cross-border academic mobility, and global workforce readiness, all central to advancing the College’s internationalization agenda.
The series commenced on May 7, 2026, featuring a presentation by the representative of the U.S. Embassy and Fulbright Philippines, which highlighted funding opportunities, research initiatives, and academic mobility programs. It continued with Session 2 on May 14, 2026, featuring the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines and Universidad Nebrija, Spain, which highlighted opportunities for English language education, faculty development, and international academic collaboration. Session 3, held on May 21, 2026, focused on expanded internationalization, diaspora engagement, and strategic community partnerships. Dr. Leo Esteene L. Galap, Director of the Global Affairs Office, represented SLC-SFLU throughout these sessions.
The succeeding sessions continued on June 4, 11, and 19, 2026, covering study and research opportunities in Taiwan through the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) and the INTENSE Program; cross-border academic mobility and sustainable internationalization through the Embassy of Canada; and global workforce readiness through SeeMeSol. These sessions were attended by Ms. Jawn Kerristine C. Bugayong, Secretary of the Global Affairs Office.
As Project PIVOT continues with its succeeding learning engagements, SLC-SFLU remains committed to actively participating in the initiative to further strengthen its internationalization efforts. Through the Global Affairs Office, the College looks forward to future sessions and collaborative opportunities that will continue to expand its global partnerships and bring the world closer to the Louisian academic community.
