Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) and MIER College of Education, India formally forged an academic partnership through a Virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony on August 7, 2026. The agreement reinforces SLC-SFLUβs commitment to internationalization by expanding opportunities for academic cooperation, knowledge exchange, and global engagement.
Representing SLC-SFLU were Rev. Fr. Roderick G. Villamar, CICM, PhD, College President, and Lea L. De Guzman, EdD, Vice President for Academic Affairs, while MIER College of Education was represented by Prof. Adit Gupta, Director/Principal, and Prof. Mool Raj, Controller of Examination. Members of the administration of both institutions also witnessed the formalization of the partnership.
The MOU provides a framework for faculty and student exchange programs, joint research and publications, guest lectures, workshops, seminars and conferences, sharing of digital resources, faculty development, mentoring and counseling activities, consultancy services, and other mutually beneficial academic initiatives. These areas of collaboration are intended to facilitate sustained institutional engagement and strengthen academic and professional networks between the two institutions.
For the SLC-SFLU community, the partnership provides opportunities for students and faculty members to gain international exposure, engage in cross-cultural academic exchanges, and participate in collaborative learning and research initiatives. It further supports the Collegeβs efforts to integrate international perspectives into academic development and strengthen the formation of globally competent students and educators.
