Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU), through its Global Affairs Office (GAO), participated in the COIL Info Session, Networking, and Partnering Fair 2026 on June 30, 2026. Organized by Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education โ International Affairs Service (CHED-IAS), the event brought together International Relations Officers and COIL focal persons from private higher education institutions across the Philippines. The activity forms part of a three-part information series designed to strengthen institutional capacity in Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL).
Anchored on the theme, “๐๐ฆ๐บ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ๐ฏ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ต๐ช๐ฏ๐ถ๐ช๐ต๐บ: ๐๐ฆ๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ๐ข๐จ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐๐๐ ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ท๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ท๐ฆ ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ค๐ฉ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ, ๐๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฃ๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ข๐ณ๐ต๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด๐ฉ๐ช๐ฑ๐ด, ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ฏ๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฏ๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ๐ช๐ป๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐๐ช๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ ๐๐ฅ๐ถ๐ค๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ,” the event highlighted the growing role of COIL in fostering faculty collaboration, intercultural learning, and meaningful global engagement among Philippine higher education institutions. Participants gained valuable insights into CHED’s policy directions on COIL and internationalization, international COIL models and best practices, local success stories, opportunities for global networking, and potential institutional partnerships.
The program featured welcome remarks from Dr. Christine Nabor Ferrer, Director of CHED-IAS, delivered by Eldrin Delgado, followed by presentations from distinguished international education practitioners, including Dr. Erwin Faller of Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc., Dr. Abigail Bryant of the State University of New York (SUNY) System Administration, Betty Mengyuan Li and Dr. Emma Zhang of Hong Kong Baptist University, and Daysi Rueda Cordones of COIL Connect Spain. Their presentations provided practical perspectives on designing, implementing, and sustaining impactful COIL initiatives across diverse educational contexts.
SLC-SFLU’s participation reflects the College’s continuing commitment to strengthening its COIL program by learning from global experts and engaging with institutions that share its vision for internationalized education. As one of the flagship initiatives of the Global Affairs Office under the GLoBE Project, COIL serves as a strategic platform for bringing the world closer to the classroom through innovative, collaborative, and globally connected learning experiences.
