SLC holds first-ever BSIT Pinning Ceremony, a milestone for future IT Professionals

Saint Louis College made history with the 1st Information Technology Pinning Ceremony held on January 24, 2026 at the Father Burgos Gymnasium. The first of its kind in the history of the College, the ceremony manifests the growing strength of the College’s Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program.

The celebration began with a Holy Mass at the Transfiguration Chapel, presided over by Rev. Fr. Rumpearl Tenkings Isaac, CICM, grounding the occasion in gratitude and purpose as the BSIT students prepared to take a significant step forward in their academic and professional journey.

More than a ceremonial rite, the pinning symbolized the transition of BSIT students from classroom learners to emerging IT professionals, ready to engage with real-world challenges through their internship experience. It also served as a meaningful recognition of the steadfast support of parents, the dedication and mentorship of faculty members, and the guidance of academic leaders who have shaped the BSIT program.

The pin, worn close to the heart, represents not only competence in technology but also the responsibility to uphold integrity, innovation, and service in the digital world. As the first batch of IT Student Interns to be formally pinned, the students stand as pioneers who reflect the College’s commitment to providing relevant, industry-responsive, and values-driven IT education.

This first-ever BSIT Pinning Ceremony affirms SLC’s continuing mission to form professionals who are technically skilled, ethically grounded, and ready to contribute meaningfully to society. As the BSIT program moves forward, this milestone stands as both a celebration of achievement and a promise of even greater impact in the field of Information Technology.
