The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), through the Technical Panel, Regional Office I, Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT), and the Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD), conducted a hybrid evaluation visit at Saint Louis College (SLC) in connection with the institution’s application for government recognition to offer the Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education and Doctor of Philosophy in Language Education programs.
Participating online from the CHED Technical Panel were Dr. Derren N. Gaylo and Dr. Ramir S. Austria. Representing CHED Regional Office I onsite was Dr. Al Gerald S. Barde, while Dr. Elsie M. Pacho joined the evaluation as the onsite representative from the CHED Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT). Also participating online from the CHED Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD) were Ms. Ma Kripper Valmonte and Ms. Pamela Llamedo.
The evaluation focused on the institution’s readiness to deliver doctoral-level instruction and research, particularly in the areas of curriculum quality, faculty qualifications, research capability, learning resources, academic support systems, and compliance with CHED standards for graduate education.
The activity reflected Saint Louis College’s continuing commitment to academic innovation, research excellence, and graduate program expansion. It also reinforced the institution’s vision of becoming a premiere innovative educational hub, advancing transformative and research-driven education in the region and beyond.
