BLUE BLOODS RISE: LOUISIAN ATHLETES SHINE ON THE NATIONAL STAGE

BACOLOD CITY — Saint Louis College’s elite contingent of Louisian athletes successfully wrapped up a grueling national campaign at the National PRISAA Games 2026 last May 5-16, delivering a masterclass in grit, tactical brilliance, and artistic grace. Going toe-to-toe with the country’s finest regional powerhouses, the blue bloods raised our banner high, proving that the Louisian brand of athletic excellence belongs on the grandest stage of school sports.
Leading the medal rush was cue artist Faustina Gabertan, who clutched a hard-fought Bronze Medal in Billiards after showing incredible focus and precision under pressure. Over on the chess boards, our mind gamers stood tall against the toughest competition, with Jazzer Anggote delivering a strong performance on Board 2, and Alyonna Versoza showing great courage and smart strategies fighting on the frontline on Board 1.
Meanwhile, the dynamic duo of Rod Steven Chan and Karen Sandoval glided through intense choreography with pure elegance to comfortably punch their ticket past the elimination phase, Qualifying in the First Round of Dancesport Standard. Not to be outdone, the tandem of Rocky Casuga and Lian Agustin brought high-octane energy and flawless technique to the floor, dominating the initial heats to successfully Qualify in the First Round of the fiery Dancesport Latin category.
With precision on the tables, calculated brilliance on the boards, and sheer artistry on the dancefloor, these Louisian powerhouse athletes did more than just compete—they brought immense pride back home to the Region and our institution, Saint Louis College. Their relentless drive, passion and sacrifice at the national finals have solidified their status as true champions, setting a new benchmark for the next generation of Blue Blooded icons.
