Representatives of Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU), led by Rev. Fr. Roderick G. Villamar, CICM, visited Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), Camiling, Tarlac, on March 26, 2025, for a benchmarking initiative and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). TAU President, Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, represented by Dr. Mariella Alexes R. Espiritu, Director, Office of the Curriculum and Instruction, along with other university officials, warmly welcomed the SLC-SFLU delegation. The MoU signing affirmed their commitment to academic collaboration and institutional development in a formal yet convivial ceremony.
The partnership centers on co-hosting and co-sponsorship of trainings, seminars, webinars, academic meetings, and short-term programs; joint projects on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), research and publications, sharing of best practices, and cooperative projects on internationalization, SDGs, educational tourism, language, and culture and the arts.
Following the ceremony, a benchmarking session featured insightful discussions on internationalization. Dr. Sheila R. Lingaya, Assistant Director of ELIA, presented TAU’s Internationalization Journey, while Dr. Benny S. Soliman, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs, discussed the functions of the International Relations Office, Internationalization at Home Programs, and Short-Term Programs. Additionally, Dr. Claire Anne A. Olivares, Dean of the College of Education and focal person for Global Citizenship Education, shared the best practices of the university on the internationalization of curriculum and instruction.
This initiative further strengthened the partnership between SLC-SFLU and TAU.
