SLC-CCAH performs at La Union’s 176th Founding Anniversary Celebration

The Saint Louis College Center for Culture, the Arts, and Heritage joined the celebration of the 176th Founding Anniversary of La Union by presenting a captivating cultural performance on March 2, 2026, at the Speaker Pro Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Convention Center in Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union. The presentation featured the talents of the SLC Samtoy Dance Troupe, SLC Chorale, and the SLC Louisian Theatre Ensemble, who depicted the region’s cultural heritage through music, dance, and theatrical expression.
Beautifully showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Ilocos Region, Pangasinan, and Benguet, the performance vividly told the story of the history, traditions, and cultural influences that contributed to the formation of the beloved province of La Union.
The production was choreographed and directed by Mr. Rufo Nilo Maltu Jr., Artistic Director of the SLC Samtoy Dance Troupe.
Through every movement, melody, and expression, the performers embodied the spirit of Agkaysa—a powerful symbol of unity that connects the history, culture, and people who continue to shape the identity of La Union.
