In its continuing pursuit of meaningful global collaboration, Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) officially forged a partnership with St. Claret College (SCC) Autonomous, Bengaluru, India through a Virtual Ceremonial Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding held on January 23, 2026.
This partnership underscores the shared commitment of both institutions to collaborate in key academic areas, including Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), student, faculty, and staff mobility programs, training programs and short courses, joint conferences, faculty development initiatives, research collaboration and joint research projects, and cooperative efforts in securing academic grants and funding support.
The ceremony formally opened with the national anthems of the Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of India. This was followed by opening remarks from the President of SLC-SFLU, Rev. Fr. Roderick G. Villamar, CICM, PhD, and response remarks from the Principal of SCC, Rev. Dr. Thomas V. Thennadiyil. Institutional videos were presented prior to the introduction of the internationalization initiatives of both institutions. Dr. Leo Esteene Galap, Director of Global Affairs, presented on behalf of SLC-SFLU, while Ms. Sherin Jacob, Coordinator of the Office of International Relations, presented for SCC.
The highlight of the ceremony was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding. Representing SLC-SFLU were College President Rev. Fr. Roderick G. Villamar, CICM, PhD, and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Lea L. De Guzman. St. Claret College was represented by its Principal, Rev. Dr. Thomas V. Thennadiyil, and Mr. Manu V. Unni, Coordinator of the Office of International Relations.
This milestone reflects SLC-SFLU’s strong commitment to internationalization and its ongoing efforts to create mutually beneficial academic opportunities for its faculty, students, and global partner institutions.
