SLC-SFLU seals strategic partnership with Soegijapranata Catholic University, Indonesia

Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) has once again affirmed its commitment to advancing international academic linkages as it formally sealed a partnership with Soegijapranata Catholic University (SCU), Indonesia, on August 19, 2025, in Taichung, Taiwan. The ceremonial signing was graced by Rev. Fr. Roderick G. Villamar, CICM, PhD, College President, who represented SLC-SFLU, and Dr. Robertus Setiawan Aji Nugroho, Vice Rector for Innovation, Research, and Publication, who represented SCU.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signifies a shared vision of academic excellence and global engagement between the two higher education institutions. Through this partnership, SLC-SFLU and SCU have pledged to collaborate on key areas of mutual interest, including the exchange of scholars and professional staff, student mobility initiatives, sharing of academic resources and materials, and the organization of joint research programs. Such research collaborations are envisioned to culminate in publications in reputable academic and professional journals, thereby contributing to the body of knowledge across disciplines. Moreover, both institutions expressed their commitment to exploring additional innovative and relevant educational undertakings that will further strengthen their academic cooperation.

This strategic partnership reflects SLC-SFLU’s ongoing pursuit of internationalization and its mission to provide transformative, globally attuned education. By fostering transnational linkages with partner universities such as SCU, the College continues to broaden opportunities for its academic community, promote intercultural understanding, and contribute meaningfully to the global discourse on education, research, and innovation.
