SLC-Samtoy Dance Troupe represents the Philippines at the 39th Jerash Festival in Jordan

The Ministry of Culture of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is hosting the 39th Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts from July 23 to August 2, 2025, in the historic city of Jerash. Established in 1981, the festival is a celebration of global cultural diversity, featuring traditional and folk dances, ballet, theatrical performances, orchestral music, and various other art forms. Held within the awe inspiring ruins of ancient Jerash, the event offers a unique opportunity for performers and audiences to engage deeply with the city’s rich archaeological and cultural heritage.
This year, the Saint Louis College Samtoy Dance Troupe, headed by their Artistic Dance Director, Rufo Nilo Maltu, Jr., has been granted the esteemed honor of representing the Philippines, with the endorsement and full support of Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) President Kaye C. Tinga. Their participation serves not only to highlight the depth of Filipino artistry and heritage but also to strengthen cultural diplomacy and foster meaningful international relationships. The presence of the troupe on this prominent stage brings pride and recognition to the Philippines, reaffirming its vibrant place in the global cultural community.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Saint Louis College Management; Rev. Fr. Eric Villamar, CICM, Ph.D.; the Cultural Exchange Department of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, under the leadership of Ms. Carmencita Bernardo; the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA); the Ministry of Culture of Jordan and the Jerash Festival Committee; the Philippine Embassy in Jordan; the SLC – Center for Culture, the Arts, and Heritage; and to all those who have generously offered their financial and moral support to make this opportunity possible.
Lagi’t lagi, para sa Diyos at sa Lupang Hinirang.🇵🇭
