Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 15, 2025, to officially seal its partnership with Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) Indonesia via the online platform Zoom.
College President Rev. Fr. Roderick G. Villamar, CICM, Ph.D was accompanied by other SLC-SFLU representatives namely Rev. Fr. Rumpearl Tenkings Isaac, CICM, Vice President for Mission and Identity, Mrs. Helen R. Tugade, Vice President for Administration, Dr. Marilou C. Mondina, CASTE Dean, Dr. Caroline G. Pajimola, CBA Dean, Engr. Melvin R. Esguerra, CEA Dean, Dr. Leo Esteene L. Galap, Global Affairs Officer, and Mrs. Viviene Aisha Gugol-Baker, Head of the College Information and Marketing Office.
UMM, a private university situated in the city of Melaka, was established in 1964. Prof. Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, S.E., M.Si., University Rector, signed the MoU, as witnessed by their representatives Muhammad Salis Yuniardi, S.Psi, M.Psi, PhD, Vice Rector for Research, Service, and Cooperation; Prof. Dr. Trisakti Handayani, M.M, Dean, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education; Prof. Ir. Ilyas Masudin, MLogSCM., Ph.D., Dean, Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Listiari Hendraningsih, M.P., Head of International Relations; Henik Tri Rahayu, S.Kep.Ns.M.S., PhD, Head of Cooperation Affairs; and Bayu Dharmala, S.Pd., M.A., Expert staff for Cooperation.
The areas of collaboration underscore the mutual commitment of SLC-SFLU and the UMM to innovation and progress. Aside from the emphasis on Collaborative Online International Learning or COIL, robust exchange student programs and the groundbreaking training on the metaverse are also to be expected. All these will ensure development and transformative global learning experiences for both institutions’ students and faculty, while simultaneously being immersed in different cultures.
SLC-SFLU, through its Global Affairs Office, remains steadfast in forging meaningful partnerships and linkages with institutions both locally and internationally. These collaborations aim to bring transformative programs and projects that enrich and empower the entire community.
