Forging the Future of Psychology in Northern Luzon: PAP-NL Professional Summit 2025 Brings Together Leading Minds and Evolving Practices

The Psychological Association of the Philippines – Northern Luzon Chapter (PAP-NL), in partnership with Saint Louis College – School of Advanced Studies and the Psychology Department, successfully held the Professional Summit 2025 on October 23–24, 2025, at Saint Louis College, City of San Fernando, La Union.
With the theme “Emerging Minds, Evolving Practices: Forging the Future of Psychology in Northern Luzon,” the two-day event gathered psychologists, psychometricians, counselors, mental health professionals, and educators to engage in critical discussions and workshops advancing psychology practice in the region.
Day One featured plenary sessions led by distinguished speakers Dr. Ver Reyes, RPsy (Working with LGBTQIA+ Clients); Dr. Sally I. Maximo, RPsy (Clinical Psychology Practice); and Dr. Faridah Kristi C. Wetherick, RPsy (Clinical Supervision).
Day Two showcased dynamic workshop facilitations from leading practitioners and educators, including Jun Angelo Sunglao, RPsy (Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Disasters and Crises); Ms. Jennifer Garcia, RPsy, and Ms. Jewell Lanillo-Villanueva, RPsy (Client-Centered Approach to Play Therapy); and Dr. Jose Pangngay, RPm, RPsy (Designing Impactful Service-Learning Programs).
Accredited by the Psychological Association of the Philippines, the summit awarded 12 CPD points for both RPsy and RPm participants by the Professional Regulation Commission—marking another milestone in strengthening the community of psychology professionals in Northern Luzon through shared expertise, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
