Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC) actively participated in the R1 Shares Research Seminar organized by the CHED Regional Office I – Ilocos Region (CHED RO1) on October 24, 2025, at Patio by Balai Norte, San Juan, La Union. The event gathered representatives from various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the region, marking a significant convergence of academic leaders and researchers committed to advancing regional research and extension initiatives.
This seminar served as the first installment of CHED RO1’s four-part project on Research and Extension, which aims to strengthen the research culture, ethical standards, and knowledge dissemination practices among HEIs. Key topics covered during the session included Research Ethics, Publication and AI Ethics, Research-Based Policy-Making, and Technology transfer, Innovation and Commercialization—all of which underscore CHED’s continuing commitment to promoting responsible and innovative research practices in the academe.
Representing SLC were Mr. Niño Randy C. Flores, Head of the Research Management Office (ResMO), and Dr. Leilani O. Sanidad, Chairperson of the Research Ethics Committee (REC). Their participation reflects SLC’s enduring dedication to research excellence, ethical scholarship, and collaborative engagement with academic institutions within the region.
