The Basic Education Schools (BEdS), in collaboration with the Research Center, held a Research Capability Training Seminar for BEdS teachers today, October 22, 2024. This event was organized through the collaborative teamwork of Ms. Beverly Mariz Rimando, a key member of the Research Ethics Committee (REC), the Departmental Research Coordinators Ms. Angelica Jane Arcolas and Mr. Allen Christian Borja, and the Research Management Office (ResMO).
The first morning session, focused on research writing and mentoring using the IMRAD-IMFAD format, was delivered by Mr. Niño Randy C. Flores, the Research Officer. He highlighted the key points from the 2024 Policy and Guidelines on the Revised Institutional Research Standards.
The second session, presented by Mr. Rainier Flor S. Marquez, the REC Vice Chairperson, covered fundamental research ethics principles and the responsible conduct of research, based on the 2024 SLC Code of Research Ethics.
In the afternoon, Mr. Luicito F. Ferrer, Senior High School Program Head at Aringay National High School, conducted a seminar on action research.
The Research Center extends its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the leadership of Basic Education Schools and the teachers for their collaboration. It is hoped that this seminar has significantly contributed to the development of research writing skills among BEdS teachers.
