On May 24, 2025, Saint Louis College of San Fernando held the CICM Campus Mission Volunteers (CCMV) Congress at Café Luis with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” The event gathered 60 CCMV members from the Elementary, Junior High School, Senior High School, and College departments for a meaningful day of formation and fellowship. Engr. Art Umel, Ms. Haidee Estrada, Rev. Fr. Ken Isaac, CICM, Mr. Lorenz Larry D. Lacandili and some representatives from Saint Louis University (SLU) CCMV shared their inspiring insights and experiences in youth ministry and service in their respective parishes. Their stories deepened the participants’ understanding of what it means to be a servant of the Lord in today’s world.
Organized by the Campus Ministry in close collaboration with the Religious Education Department (Basic Education Schools), and the Christian Faith Education Department (College), the congress aimed to prepare the incoming CCMV members for the upcoming school year by strengthening their foundation in servant leadership rooted in faith and mission. The event also embodied the CICM missionary spirit by encouraging students to live out the values of Christ-centeredness, Excellence, and Missionary Spirit.
Furthermore, it aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by promoting holistic formation, moral integrity, and youth engagement in building a better world.
The day ended with a Eucharistic celebration presided by Rev. Fr. Rumpearl Tenkings Isaac, CICM, Vice President for Mission and Identity and the awarding of certificates to the facilitators and participants. The CCMV Congress reminded the participants that they are pilgrims of hope—called to serve with faith, compassion, and purpose.
