RECAP | Criminology Faculty Participate in International Conference on Artificial Intelligence

The Criminology faculty members of Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU), Ms. Rochelle Jarmel and Ms. Angelica Kathrina Corpuz, participated in the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence held from February 9 to 20, 2026, at De La Salle University–Dasmariñas.
With the theme “Educating Ethically with Intelligence and Integrity: AI-Driven Futures in Teaching, Learning, and Research,” the conference convened educators, researchers, and academic leaders from diverse institutions to examine the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on higher education. The event served as a dynamic platform for scholarly dialogue on the ethical integration of AI, innovative pedagogical approaches, and the evolving landscape of research and academic practice.
The conference featured a series of plenary sessions led by distinguished experts in the field. Among the highlighted presentations were: “AI Will Not Replace Humans—But Humans Using AI Will: The Future of Work, Creativity & Leadership” delivered by Dr. Pratik Rajan Mungekar, FRSA; “Towards a Theology of AI: Catholic Ethical Reflections on Technology and Human Dignity” presented by Fr. Joseph Royan, C.Ss.R.; “Empowering Research with GenAI: A Hands-On Workshop on Emerging Tools and Practices” facilitated by Dr. Constantino T. Ballena; “Digital Twinning in the Academe: Its Evolution, Challenges, and Opportunities in an Emerging Technological Frontier” presented by Dr. Rupali Sunil Wagh; “GenAI in Research: Trends, Risks, and Reflections on Ethical Practice” delivered by Dr. Jayson Parba; and “AI-Driven Pedagogies: Transforming Teaching, Learning, and Assessment in the Digital Era” presented by Dr. Jeno Lovesum S. P. These sessions provided comprehensive insights into the ethical, technological, and pedagogical dimensions of artificial intelligence in contemporary education.
