Project R.I.S.E: Empowering Educators through Mentoring by Mrs. Jerlie Villanueva

In pursuit of academic excellence and professional growth, Project R.I.S.E Mentoring in partnership with Northern Philippines College for Maritime, Science and Technology (NPCMST) was launched under the School of Advanced Studies as an initiative of the PhM 331 Practicum: Mission and Identity Class of the First Semester of Academic Year 2024-2025. The Project RISE is spearheaded by Program Coordinator Mr. Mervin Bantiyan, alongside Project Leaders Mrs. Dyan Abulaban, Mr. Mark Eugene Gutierrez, Mr. Renel Ian Ornido, Mr. Henry Rivera, and Mrs. Jerlie Villanueva, with Dr. Leilani O. Sanidad serving as the Course Facilitator.

Project R.I.S.E (Reaching Individuals through Support and Empowerment) aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. This initiative focuses on mentorship, collaboration, and professional development, equipping educators with skills and strategies for effective teaching, leadership, and continuous learning. It also targets the SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals which calls to strengthen the means of implementation and to build and enhance partnerships with diverse stakeholders.

Through structured mentoring sessions, participants engage in knowledge-sharing, skill-building activities, and meaningful discussions, fostering a culture of empowerment and academic excellence. This project embodies the commitment of the School of Advanced Studies to nurturing future educational leaders, strengthening the academic community, and making quality education more accessible and impactful.
