SLC Research Management Office (ResMO) and the Research Ethics Committee (REC) conducted a benchmarking visit to Saint Louis University (SLU)’s Research Ethics Committee on February 17, 2025, to gain insights into research ethics practices and exchange best practices.
The SLC benchmarking team included Mr. Niño Randy C. Flores, Research Officer; Dr. Leilani O. Sanidad, REC Chair; Mr. Rainier Flor S. Marquez, Vice Chair; Ms. Winona Elaine C. Soriano, CEA REC Key Member; Ms. Aprilyn O. Cariaso, CLCJE REC Key Member; Ms. Beverly Mariz M. Rimando, BEdS Key Member; and Ms. Farlene Mae P. Galvez, Research Ethics Secretary. They were warmly received by Dr. Rainier Moreno-Lacalle, Chairperson of SLU-REC; Dr. Gwendolyn Tadeo, Research Ethics Support Administrator; and Dr. Stephanie O. Busbus, Director of the SLU Office of Global Relations and Alumni Affairs.
This benchmarking visit aligns with SLC’s vision of fostering a dynamic research culture grounded in moral and epistemic responsibility, adhering to ethical and just research practices as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings outlined in the 2024 SLC Code of Research Ethics.
