World-Ready Louisians: Hospitality and Tourism students begin internship in Thailand

The Hospitality and Tourism Management Department of Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) has officially deployed a new batch of student interns to Thailand through its international industry partners. This opportunity forms part of the institution’s ongoing efforts to strengthen global exposure and professional readiness among its learners, made possible under the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP).

A total of 31 Louisians—14 Tourism Management students and 17 Hospitality Management students—have been assigned to various host establishments in Thailand. These include Don Mueang International Airport, Phuket International Airport, Chiang Mai Airport, Krabi Tipa Resort, and Kata Group Resort. The internship runs from December 2025 to May 2026, during which students will undergo on-the-job training in operational, service, and customer-related functions relevant to their fields of study.

This overseas internship program strengthens SLC-SFLU’s commitment to internationalization, reflecting the College’s mission to form world-ready professionals capable of thriving in a globally connected hospitality and tourism industry. By immersing students in real-world work environments abroad, the program enhances their practical skills, broadens their cultural perspective, and provides invaluable experiences that enrich their academic learning and future career paths.
