Nava, Principal IV of Rimos National High School (RNHS), and Ms. Reyna B. Resurreccion, faculty member and project focal person at RNHS, on February 21, 2025. The meeting focused on the continuation of Project L.A.I.N.G. (Learning, Achieving, Integrating, and Nurturing Growth in the Care of Numeracy and Excellence in Literacy, Spirituality, and Wellness), a service-learning program (SLP) extension led by Mr. Ronald L. Dimalibot, head of the Teacher Education Department.
The meeting was also attended by the different department heads, Ms. Mary Joy J. Rodriguez of the Mathematics Department, Ms. Jo Anne E. Kiniado of the Natural Sciences Department, and Ms. Estella I. Borja of the CFE Department, and Mr. Kelvin C. Villanueva, a faculty member of the Languages Department. During the meeting, RNHS and the department agreed on details about the activities that will be undertaken by the identified learners during the seven Saturday sessions from March 1, 2025, to April 12, 2025.
The said program will be attended by all 3rd-year students in the Teacher Education program, specifically BSEd, BEEd, BSNEd, and BPEd programs, serving as teacher-volunteers. Meanwhile, Grades 7 and 8 learners who are identified as academically challenged along the subject areas—English, Science, and Mathematics—will be the recipients of the program.
Ms. Mary Joy J. Rodriguez, the head of the Mathematics Department, together with Mr. Kelvin C. Villanueva, one of the faculty members of the TEd, attended the afternoon PTA meeting and Card Day to do the orientation about Project L.A.I.N.G. to the parents of the learners of RNHS.
The program officially commenced on March 1, 2025, with a recollection and a Eucharistic celebration spearheaded by the CFE Department under the leadership of Ms. Stella I. Borja.
