Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) was honored as the 2024 Regional Salamat Po Awardee under the Most Outstanding Volunteer in the DSWD Centers/Residential Care Facilities Category of the Pagkilala sa Natatanging Kontribusyon (PaNata Ko) sa Bayan Awards. The plaque of recognition was received by Mr. Chester Alan R. The College was commended for its psycho-spiritual projects that promote the spiritual and mental well-being of the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY) residents. Through initiatives such as Project Eunoia (2023 & 2024), Project Namnama (2024), and Project Meraki (2024), the Psychology Department of the school has played a key role in fostering faith, resilience, hope, and optimism among the youth at RRCY.

This award reaffirms SLC-SFLU’s missionary identity and strengthens its commitment to social responsibility and pakikipagkapwa (shared humanity). More than a recognition, it serves as an inspiration and a call to action for the Louisian community to continue guiding, healing, and empowering others through meaningful service.
