TAICHUNG, TAIWAN — On August 20, 2025, Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) formalized its partnership with Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya, Indonesia through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) held in Taichung, Taiwan. Representing SLC-SFLU were Rev. Fr. Roderick G. Villamar, CICM, Ph.D., President, and Dr. Lea L. De Guzman, Vice President for Academic Affairs. Signing on behalf of Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya were Rector Apt. Sumi Wijaya, S.Si., Ph.D., and Dr. F.V. Lanny Hartanti, S.Si., M.Si., Vice Rector for Academics, Student Affairs, Alumni, Innovation, and Business.
This international collaboration marks a significant step toward advancing academic excellence and cross-cultural engagement. Both institutions commit to fostering institutional exchange by encouraging the participation of faculty and staff in various academic endeavors, including trainings, intercultural activities, visiting professorships, research collaborations, forums, symposiums, and joint conferences. Furthermore, the partnership aims to promote educational programs focused on research, teaching, and community outreach across diverse disciplines. Student exchange programs and culturally enriching academic activities at both undergraduate and graduate levels are also key components of this cooperation.
This initiative aligns with SLC-SFLU’s steadfast commitment to internationalization, expanding its global academic networks while enhancing opportunities for collaborative learning, innovation, and community engagement.
