Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) has further strengthened its international linkages by forging formal partnerships with distinguished Tourism and Hospitality Institutions in Thailand on September 4, 2025. This initiative is made possible under the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP). This milestone initiative reflects the College’s continuing commitment to provide its students with meaningful opportunities for global academic engagement and professional growth. Representing the institution in this endeavor were Dr. Lee Jordan C. Acosta, Program Head of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Dr. Remelyn C. Liclican, OJT Coordinator of the same department.
Through this initiative, SLC-SFLU has established partnerships with premier tourism and hospitality establishments, including (1). Beyond Resorts by Kata Group in Phuket, (2) Krabi Tipa Resort in Krabi, (3) Don Meuang International Airport – The Executive Lounge (Thailand) Co. Ltd. in Bangkok, (4) Chiang Mai International Airport – The Executive Lounge (Thailand) Co. Ltd., and (5) Phuket International Airport – The Executive Lounge (Thailand) Co. Ltd. These institutions represent some of the most dynamic sectors in Thailand’s tourism and hospitality industry, offering diverse environments where students can experience world-class operations in both leisure and travel management.
With these partnerships, student interns from the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department are set to be deployed during the last quarter of the year. This opportunity will provide them with invaluable exposure to international standards of service, operations, and customer care, thereby equipping them with competencies aligned with the global tourism and hospitality landscape. More importantly, this initiative underscores SLC-SFLU’s steadfast dedication to academic excellence, industry relevance, and internationalization, ensuring that its graduates are prepared to thrive as globally competitive professionals in an interconnected world.
