SLC-SFLU BEdS students engaged in a virtual exchange with Taisha Junior High School, Japan

To promote cross-cultural understanding, Grade 11 students from Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) participated in a virtual exchange with Taisha Junior High School, Japan, on March 3, 2025, via Zoom. Facilitated by SLC-SFLU’s Global Affairs Office (GAO) under The GLoBE Project Program and the World Classroom Program by Hello World, Inc., the event aimed to strengthen global connections.

Ms. Jannette S. Gaetos, Assistant to the Principal for Academics, and Mr. Louise Casey C. Murao, Senior High School teacher, facilitated the session alongside Ms. Minori Aiba, World Classroom Moderator of Hello World, Inc. During the interaction, students from SLC-SFLU and Taisha Junior High School shared insights into Filipino and Japanese culture, including cuisine, tourist spots, films, prominent figures, currency, and traditional attire.

The exchange fostered cultural discussions and international friendships. Both schools valued the experience, reinforcing the importance of global engagement in education. This initiative marks another step in SLC’s commitment to internationalization and cross-cultural collaboration.
