In a landmark move to foster international collaboration, Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU), and the University of Mataram (UNRAM) in Indonesia officially established their academic partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing held virtually via Zoom on March 21.
The MOU underscores the commitment of both institutions to advancing collaboration in enriching the capabilities and full potential of the resources available, benefitting both collegiate and postgraduate students. The agreement also covers cooperation in education, research, community service, and other collaborative efforts aimed at enriching global learning experiences while promoting cross-cultural understanding.
Dr. Lea L. De Guzman, Vice President for Academic Affairs, signed the agreement on behalf of SLC-SFLU. She was joined by a delegation of distinguished school officials, including Mrs. Helen R. Tugade, Vice President for Administration; Dr. Marilou C. Mondina, CASTE Dean; Dr. Caroline G. Pajimola, CBA Dean; Engr. Melvin R. Esguerra, CEA Dean; Dr. Leo Esteene L. Galap, Global Affairs Officer; Ms. Gloria Sison, Community Extension and CICM; and Mrs. Viviene Aisha Gugol-Baker, Head of the College Information and Marketing Office.
Representing UNRAM, Dr. Dewi Satria Elmiana, Vice-Head of the Office of International Affairs, introduced the university, which operates under the Ministry of National Education in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. University Rector, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., officially signed the MOU for UNRAM.
This strategic partnership marks a significant step forward in global academic networking, ensuring a transformative educational experience for students and faculty from both institutions. Through this collaboration, SLC-SFLU and UNRAM aim to cultivate innovation in education, research, and community service while fostering intercultural exchange and understanding.
