SLC-SFLU and PPSA forge pioneering partnership in Region 1

As part of Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union’s (SLC-SFLU) strategic initiatives of expanding linkages and collaborations, the institution partners with the Philippine Political Science Association (PPSA) in a historic first in the Ilocos Region on February 18, 2024, at Café Luis, SLC-SFLU.
The Ceremonial Signing of Memorandum of Understanding is participated in by PPSA’s Regional Representative for Luzon, Asst. Prof. Ciela Marie B. Pacopia, representing PPSA President, Dr. Jan Robert R. Go, SLC-SFLU’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Lea L. De Guzman, Vice President for Administration, Mrs. Helen R. Tugade, Academic Dean of College of Arts and Sciences, Technology and Education, Dr. Marilou C. Mondina, Global Affairs Officer, Dr. Leo Esteene L. Galap, Research Officer, Mr. Ninño Randy C. Flores, Program Head of the Political Science, Mr. Jocel R. Opeña and members of the faculty and students of the Political Science Program.
The partnership highlights the commitment of both institutions to provide mutual access to information and opportunities for researchers and students; promote knowledge exchange and collaboration by fostering an environment that encourages the sharing of ideas, expertise, and resources; advance innovation by supporting activities that contribute to the field of political science; and enhance political science education through collaborative efforts aimed at improving training and educational standards.
Through this partnership, it is envisioned that the Political Science program of the institution will gain more collaboration, cooperation, and interaction with political scientists of the country, enhancing the relevance and the quality of instruction of the program towards producing able and competent professionals responsive to the needs of the church and society.
