Last September, Saint Louis College observed Mental Health Awareness Month with a series of student-led activities that highlighted compassion, connection, and courage. Organized by the Saint Louis College Guidance Center as part of the Guidance Festival 2025, both the Basic Education Schools (BEdS) and the College Department came together to promote suicide awareness and prevention through meaningful and creative initiatives.
The BEdS Department began the campaign with three feel-good activities—the “You Matter” Wall, Daily Dose of Kindness Bingo, and Fill the Jar, Fill the Heart—which encouraged affirmations, gratitude, and small acts of kindness. These moments fostered empathy and reminded everyone that help and hope are always within reach.
Building on this momentum, the College Department continued the movement with another week of reflection and connection. Through gratitude walls, uplifting notes, and everyday gestures of care, students were reminded that mental health goes beyond crisis—it’s about daily kindness, genuine presence, and the courage to reach out.
Across both weeks, the message was clear: every person matters, healing begins with connection, and compassion can make a life-changing difference.
