SLC-HS shines at UP Namnama Sirib ken Saririt 2026

Saint Louis College High School demonstrated its unwavering commitment to academic and cultural excellence as its students and coaches delivered strong performances during UP Namnama Sirib Ken Saririt 2026, held on January 17, 2026, at La Union National High School, themed “The Light That Refuses to Dim.”

Competing in various literary, journalistic, and speaking events, SLCHS delegates emerged as multiple awardees and were crowned Overall Winner in the Senior High School category, reflecting the institution’s strong mentorship culture and holistic student formation.

In the Junior High School division, Jewel S. Kate Porras earned Third Place in English Essay Writing, coached by Ms. Cybelle S. Gapas, while Paulinne Crishna R. Rilloraza secured First Place in Pagsulat ng Sanaysay, under Ms. Regine O. Ocampo.

SLCHS also dominated the speech categories, with Allison Marcos placing First in Extemporaneous Speaking coached by Ms. Judy Ann T. Sibayan, and Rhian Roxas winning First Place in Panandaliang Talumpati, guided by Ms. Jean D. Datuin. Dayle Xander Mercado further strengthened the school’s standing after claiming First Place in English Oration, under Ms. Melody O. Castillo.

In the Senior High School category, SLCHS emerged as Overall Winner, led by Ethan Gabriel Navalta, First Place in English Essay Writing, coached by Mrs. Carla Joy F. Domondon, and Danielle Annicka Benauro, First Place in Impromptu Speaking, guided by Mr. John Carlo A. Manabat. Khervin Clyde Cariaga added to the accolades with a Third Place finish in Pagsulat ng Sanaysay under Ms. Allyssa Joy B. Macato.

Beyond the awardees, SLCHS proudly acknowledges the students who represented the institution in various categories, supported by dedicated coaches who guided them throughout the competition.

For the Junior High School division, participants included Jyrynn Myzh V. Navora (Essay Writing Ilocano, coached by Mr. Jerome B. Biares), Maria Sofia L. Meer (Short Story Writing English, Ms. Jerabel Mae D. Riataza), Freyah Audrey Valle (Short Story Writing Filipino, Ms. Angelica C. Paragas), Kiel Iana O. Bistoyong (Ilocano Poem Writing, Mr. Alex B. Prudencio), Shandee Larah G. Concubierta (Oration Ilocano, Ms. Jean Datuin), Samantha Con Angelique Litaua (Ilocano Vocal Solo, Mr. Smith D. Lagdaan), Raycel Mariah D. Ofiaza (Photojournalism English, Ms. Jannette S. Gaetos), Ma. Samantha Nicole A. Cacapit (Traditional Poster Making, Ms. Cybelle S. Gapas and Mr. Mark Anthony C. Natura), and Sirib Quiz Show participants Stephanie Nicole P. Gamata, Zyrille H. Gacayan, and Gilliane Maxine L. Mendoza, coached by Mr. Clarence C. Vidal, Ms. Jolina May T. Viloria, and Ms. Brianna Mariz R. Paden.

For the Senior High School division, other participants included Kenneth P. Lipaen (Essay Writing Ilocano, Mr. Jerome B. Biares), Irvine Travis H. Pilingen (Dagliang Talumpati, Ms. Jean D. Datuin), and Marcia Ledeca D. Cunanan (Traditional Poster Making, Mrs. Regie N. Aspuria and Ms. Mary Margarette L. Amiller).

Reflecting on the students’ performances, Mrs. Carla Joy F. Domondon, coach, emphasized that success goes beyond medals.

“This competition reminded us that excellence is not measured solely by awards, but by the courage to speak, write, and create. Every student who represented Saint Louis College carried the light of discipline, passion, and purpose—and that light will never dim,” Mrs. Domondon said.

Through the collective efforts of its students and mentors, Saint Louis College High School once again stood as a beacon of academic and cultural excellence, living true to the event’s theme and proving that the light of learning and expression truly refuses to dim.
