Radiating Louisian excellence as the Beacon of Wisdom in the North, Saint Louis College (SLC) honored its alumni and faculty members who passed various licensure examinations from 2024 to 2025 during the annual Recognition of Board Passers held at the SLC Grandstand on April 26.
The celebration opened with a Thanksgiving Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Rumpearl Tenkings Isaac, CICM, at The Transfiguration of Our Lord Chapel.
Following the assembly and invocation, Engr. Melvin R. Esguerra, Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) and host of this year’s ceremony, delivered the opening remarks, setting the tone for the event.
SLC, through its academic deans and program heads, awarded certificates of recognition to the board passers, celebrating their perseverance and success. Select department representatives also delivered heartfelt responses, sharing reflections on their journeys and expressing gratitude to those who supported them.
For the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), Carl Andrew G. Buen, CPA, recalled how his struggles during his accountancy journey strengthened his resilience. Representing the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA), Engr. Juliane Alyssa D. Nonesa shared that acknowledging self-doubt can be a powerful source of motivation.
Angela Christine A. Lucero, LPT, who ranked 9th in the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT), gave the response for the College of Arts, Sciences, Technology, and Education (CASTE), emphasizing the importance of faith and trust in God’s plan.
Krizalynne H. Manzano, RPm, CHRA, from the CASTE Psychology Program, highlighted the role of self-confidence and trust in overcoming the challenges of licensure examinations. Meanwhile, Aljay Cortez, RCrim, from the College of Legal and Criminal Justice Education (CLCJE), extended his heartfelt gratitude to his support system, who stood by him during his preparation for the Criminology Licensure Examination (CLE).
In addition to the certificates, SLC awarded cash incentives to board topnotchers and programs that achieved at least a 75 percent passing rate in their respective board examinations.
SLC proudly achieved an 80.56 percent passing rate in the February 2025 CLE and an 88.37 percent passing rate in the September 2024 LET, further cementing its reputation for producing competent and mission-driven professionals.
SLC continues to stand as a beacon of academic excellence, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing future Louisian professionals who embody wisdom, integrity, and service.
