Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) and the Philippine Association of Collegiate Schools in Business (PACSB) formally solidified their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on March 10, 2026, at Café Luis. The agreement marks the beginning of a collaborative endeavor to host a Research Boot Camp aimed at strengthening research capacity among PACSB member institutions.
Anchored on the theme “Waves of Wisdom: Riding the Tide of Sustainability and AI in Research,” the Research Boot Camp seeks to foster synergy among member institutions in exploring the convergence of artificial intelligence and sustainability. The initiative is designed to promote innovative, technology-driven, and sustainable research practices that contribute to the development of smarter, greener, and more resilient futures. Moreover, the program aims to equip educators and researchers with relevant knowledge and skills to effectively navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of education, research, and sustainability.
The MOA was signed by Rev. Fr. Roderick G. Villamar, CICM, PhD, President of SLC-SFLU, and Dr. Amado L. Magsino, President of PACSB. Witnessing the ceremonial signing were Dr. Jennifer T. Ramos, Chair of the Faculty Development Committee of PACSB; Dr. Victor C. Manabat, Executive Vice President of PACSB; Dr. Lea L. De Guzman, Vice President for Academic Affairs of SLC-SFLU; and Dr. Caroline G. Pajimola, Academic Dean of the College of Business and Accountancy.
Also present during the ceremony were PACSB officers, members of the SLC-SFLU Management Council, and representatives from the Research Management Office, Global Affairs Office, and the Business Administration Program.
This collaboration underscores SLC-SFLU’s steadfast commitment to advancing research as a catalyst for innovation, excellence, and transformative impact in business education.
