Global Affairs Office conducts Orientation for the Pioneer Batch of COIL Facilitators

In preparation for the program implementation, the SLC-SFLU-Global Affairs Office (GAO) spearheaded the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Program Orientation for the Pioneer Batch of Facilitators on March 14, 2025. The COIL Orientation brings together the Coordinators and Facilitators from the College of Arts, Sciences, and Teacher Education (CASTE), College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), and College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) for an informative and meaningful discussion on the conduct and management of the program.

The orientation introduced the facilitators to COIL’s purpose, scope, and expected outcomes while providing strategies for effective cross-cultural communication and ideas for collaborative projects. The activity also allowed attendees to exchange insights and optimize their COIL experience.

COIL is an innovative approach that integrates international collaboration into coursework through online platforms, fostering global awareness, intercultural competence, and digital literacy. This is a program under The GLoBE Project. Through COIL, the institution strengthens its dedication to fostering sustainable and mutually beneficial international collaborations.

This initiative aligns with SLC-SFLU’s mission to build strong partnerships with institutions that share its vision of global education, ultimately serving the interests not only of students and stakeholders but also of its partners. By engaging in meaningful academic collaborations, SLC-SFLU continues to shape globally competent individuals prepared for an interconnected world. The orientation marks the beginning of a transformative educational journey, strengthening international collaboration in the digital age.
