In celebration of their triumphant hurdle in the September 2025 Bar Examinations, Saint Louis College (SLC), through the College of Law (COL), honored 16 Louisian lawyers during the Testimonial Dinner 2026, held at the Fr. Burgos Gymnasium, Feb. 28.
Marking a stellar performance, the institution garnered a 75.00 percent passing rate for first-time takers and a 66.67 percent overall passing rate, both besting the 48.98 percent national passing rate.
To open the event, SLC Chorale led the opening prayer, followed by the Honorees Acknowledgment from the COL Student Council headed by Grethelwyn Yatar.
Further, Rev. Fr. Roderick G. Villamar, CICM, PhD, extended his message of appreciation, congratulating the newly minted lawyers for their dedication, which brought pride to the institution.
As elegant drapes covered the gym and attendees in hues of red and black applaud, the honorees in their formal attire shone throughout the night as they conveyed their testimonial speech.
Sharing their stories of sweet victories and memories of silent sacrifices from their law school journey to eventually conquering the bar, the new Louisian lawyers delivered their speeches in batches of four.
In between their speeches, the first-year Juris Doctor students performed their “ALE: A Law School Excerpt,” showcasing the life of a law student.
Moreover, a video look back was played, featuring the photos and videos taken by the honorees during their preparation for the dreaded bar examination.
Dean Felmanda D. Camat, LLM, honored the new Louisian lawyers as she led the ceremonial toast of victory with them to conclude the testimonial speeches.
Continuing the institution’s well-founded tradition on faith, Cleo Evangelista, COL Student Council liturgical coordinator, led the prayer of blessing for the Louisian barristers in the September 2026 Bar Examinations.
Furthermore, a short raffle was held, and the Best Dressed Awards for faculty and attendees were conferred. The student council was also recognized, followed by a photo opportunity to formally close the event.
As they embark on their legal profession, the event serves not only to honor their excellence but also to remind them that they are continuously challenged to uphold the Constitution and the very laws they rigorously studied by practicing them with integrity and faith.
