Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) forged a formal partnership with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) – Urdaneta District Jail Male Dormitory on February 18, 2025, at Café Luis (SLC-SFLU) in a ceremonial signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
JCINSP RANDY A BATAY-AN, Acting District Jail Warden; JO3 Sheryll Ann N Tamayo, Chief Welfare and Development Section; JO1 Areeya Jessica M Frigillana-Galap; and JO1 Kenny Rod S Matias represented BJMP – Urdaneta District Jail Male Dormitory. While SLC-SFLU is represented by Dr. Lea L. De Guzman, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mrs. Helen R. Tugade, Vice President for Administration; and Dr. Leo Esteene L. Galap, Global Affairs Officer. The event is also attended by the Community Extension and CICM Advocacy (CECA) Officer and staff and the OIC Guidance Coordinator and staff of the Guidance Office. Also, Dr. Caroline G. Pajimola, Academic Dean of the College of Commerce Secretarial and Accountancy, together with the faculty and students of the Business Administration Program, and Dr. Marilou C. Mondina, Academic Dean of the College of Arts, Technology, and Education, along with the faculty and students of the Psychology and Criminology Programs, joined the ceremony.
This mutually beneficial partnership highlights the commitment of both institutions to craft psychosocial support programs, spiritual direction activities, and cooperation on para-liturgical programs. The main aim of this collaboration is to bring in not only opportunities for our students, staff, and faculty but also to initiate innovation and positive change deeply anchored in the vision, mission, and core values of both institutions.
