Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) took part in the Foreign Scholarships and Training Program (FSTP) and Erasmus+ Caravan – Luzon Leg held on October 22–23, 2024, at the Monarch Hotel, Calasiao, Pangasinan.
The event aimed to equip internationalization and external relations officers from higher education institutions across the Philippines with essential knowledge about available foreign scholarships in the United States, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and various parts of Europe through bilateral and multilateral programs.
The two-day activity, sponsored by the Commission on Higher Education–International Affairs Service (CHED-IAS), commenced with messages and presentations from CHED officials, followed by testimonials from returning Erasmus+ scholars. In particular, beneficiaries of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Program and Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) shared their enriching academic experiences.
Moreover, the event featured presentations of scholarship opportunities from the representatives and scholars of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO), and Fulbright Programs.
Indeed, the two-day engagement provided a wealth of concrete opportunities that participating higher education institutions can extend to their students and faculty, further advancing the goals of internationalization and academic collaboration.
