As a Catholic missionary school, Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) continues to intensify its collaborative programs with the Diocese of San Fernando de La Union. In line with this commitment, the two institutions formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on February 16, 2026, further solidifying their shared dedication to the holistic formation of the youth.
For many years, Saint Louis College of San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU), through its Campus Ministry Office (CMO), has maintained a strong partnership with the Diocese of San Fernando de La Union in exploring and implementing Christian formation initiatives that benefit not only the students and employees of the College but also various stakeholders within the wider community.
The renewed partnership encompasses key initiatives such as youth formation programs, vocation campaigns, recollections for public schools, service-learning activities, sacramental preparation and services for pupils in public schools, ecumenical undertakings, and active participation in diocesan and parochial celebrations. Representing SLC-SFLU in the signing was the College President, Rev. Fr. Roderick G. Villamar, CICM, PhD, through Rev. Fr. Rumpearl Tenkings Isaac, CICM, Vice President for Mission and Identity. The Diocese was represented by the Bishop, Most Rev. Daniel O. Presto, D.D. The ceremonial signing took place at the Diocesan Chancery in the City of San Fernando, La Union.
The renewed partnership between the two institutions strongly manifests SLC-SFLU’s identity as a Catholic missionary institution. It also further reflects the College’s enduring commitment to transformative education and faith-driven service to the church and the community.
