In celebration of its 61st year of committed mission and service to the community, Saint Louis College, through the Center for Culture, the Arts and Heritage (CCAH), staged a vibrant cultural event titled Pista at Sining: Celebrating Culture and Creativity on May 2, 2025, at the SLC Grandstand. The event brought together the talents of Louisians in an inspiring celebration of Filipino identity, artistry, and heritage.
The celebration opened with a breathtaking performance by the SLC Samtoy Dance Troupe in Saliw at Galaw. The troupe showcased both the rich cultural traditions of Northern Luzon and a variety of contemporary dance interpretations set to beloved OPM hits. With grace, energy, and passion, they told stories through movement, captivating the audience from the very beginning.
Next came the Saint Louis College Marching Band with Sulyap ng Musika: Noon at Ngayon. Their repertoire featured a journey through Filipino music history—from retro disco fever to soulful ballads and timeless OPM. Their dynamic performance served as a bridge connecting generations through the universal language of music.
The Louisian Theatre Ensemble and Teatrong Louisiano then took the stage with Daloy at Kwento, a moving theatrical collection where the rhythm of life intertwined with heartfelt narratives. Their powerful storytelling and emotionally charged performances reminded the audience of the role of theater in preserving and presenting the Filipino experience.
Finally, the Saint Louis College Chorale brought the celebration to an emotional crescendo with Himig at Ritmo. Blending harmony and rhythm, tradition and innovation, their set captured the soul of the event. Their music resonated with cultural pride, delivering a performance that was both technically superb and deeply moving.
