More than 500 school administrators and representatives from various private educational institutions across Region I gathered at the Fr. Burgos Gymnasium of Saint Louis College (SLC), San Fernando, La Union, on April 22, 2026 for the Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) Regional Orientation Conference.
The event, hosted by the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) in partnership with Saint Louis College, aimed to equip participants with essential strategies, guidelines, and updates on the implementation of the Education Service Contracting (ESC), Teachers’ Salary Subsidy (TSS), and Senior High School (SHS) Voucher Programs for School Year 2026–2027.
Gracing the event were SLC College President and PEAC Regional Program Director for Region I, Rev. Fr. Roderick G. Villamar, CICM, PhD; Mr. Danilo D. Romero, PEAC Regional Coordinator; Estela L. Cariño, PhD, DepEd Regional Director for Region 1; Ms. Denise M. Adriano, Head of Communications and Research Unit; Ms. Vanessa Mae Q. Gallego, Project Development Officer III – GASS; Mr. Riene R. Dimakiling, Project Development Officer II – GASS; and Ms. Angelique, Technical Assistant II, PEO.
The conference strengthened the partnership between private schools and the government in ensuring the accessibility, quality, and sustainability of education in the region.
