Saint Louis College (SLC) strengthened its commitment to preparing students for life beyond the classroom through the first-ever Career Development Support Program for Grade 12 students held on October 30, 2025, at the Father Burgos Gymnasium.
Organized by the SLC Basic Education Schools Work Immersion Group headed by Ms. Jean Datuin, Work Immersion Coordinator; and the Alumni and Job Placement Office in collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO)-La Union, PESO-San Fernando City, TESDA Regional Office, and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), the program gathered around 450 Grade 12 students for a day of career insights, practical guidance, and labor market updates.
The event aimed to help senior high school students prepare for their next steps—whether in college, employment, or entrepreneurship—by offering discussions on key topics such as Employment and Entrepreneurship, Labor Market Information, Find Jobs Portal, and Practical Skills and Career Readiness.
Mr. Jefferson Livara, ECE, a Motivational Speaker, shared government programs that promote youth involvement in local industries and livelihood opportunities, while La Union PESO Manager Ms. Charito Dator introduced the Find Jobs Portal, connecting students to job opportunities nationwide. Mr. Mc Kevin Coco Salvador of San Fernando City PESO provided valuable labor market updates and career planning tips, and Dr. John Adrian Malagotnot, Chief of the Regulation Division of PRC Regional Office, discussed the 46 regulated professions under the PRC and their licensure processes.
Through this initiative, SLC continues to strengthen school–industry partnerships and equip its learners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate their chosen career paths with purpose and readiness.
