As part of an initiative to strengthen waste prevention and management practices in the Louisian community, learners, alumni, employees, parents, and canteen managers participated in a SWOT analysis conducted by Saint Louis College–San Fernando, La Union (SLC-SFLU) through its Community Extension and CICM Advocacies Office (CECA) in collaboration with the Campus Development and Sustainability Office (CDSO) on May 14, 2025 at SLC Café Luis.
Ms. Gloria Sison, CECA Officer, outlined the purpose of the activity which was followed by the introduction of participants, led by Ms. Jeisha Lei Abaya, Assistant to the CECA Officer. After the introductions, Mrs. Lerma Navarro, a Science teacher from the Basic Education Schools (BEdS), served as the facilitator for the event. Drawing from her experience as a classroom adviser, she guided the participants through the process of conducting a SWOT analysis, providing concrete examples.
Following Mrs. Navarro’s presentation, participants were given enough time to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats observed within their respective offices. They were then invited to share and present their findings, along with proposed plans of action. These insights and recommendations will play a vital role in developing a comprehensive plan to enhance waste prevention and management practices within the institution.
